We are on our third week of developing choreography for the 2015 ASB Performance Ensemble. Our students are in their first year with us and are learning so much, so fast. I am proud of them all. We have seventeen students dedicated to the performance ensemble. We are exploring the theme of “support.” We started with support in its physical form. How it feels to support our fellow dancers and what it feels like to be supported. We practiced sharing weight, giving weight to our partner and taking their weight. On day two we talked about how we support our families – something very tangible – developing choreography around the chores that we do around the house.
Stay tuned to see what we explore in the coming weeks and how this performance takes shape. Our performance dates are May 28th & 29th at California Center for the Arts in Escondido.
